Biography

Irish singer Sandra Coffey got her first taste of performing in public at the age of 10. During a day at school, she was asked  - out of the blue - to sing the "Fields of Athenry" for a visitor. Luckily being from there, she knew the words and ever since then, singing has been a part of her life.
She is a classically trained soprano based in Galway, Ireland. She is interested in all kinds of music and is also a keen crossover artist.

She trained with the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, where she received the highest honours.
She has performed in the RDS in Dublin and venues across the country. Sandra has competed in competitions, most notably the Francisco Vinas Competition at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, where she represented Ireland.

Past performances include a solo concert in the G Hotel in my home city of Galway, where she regularly performs. Songs from Puccini, Mozart, Percy French, Thomas Moore, Charles Stanford, Andrew Lloyd Webber among many others were performed on the night.

A great experience for her was getting to perform on the Seoige & O'Shea show, more recently titled Seoige on RTE television. She recorded a hit from one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musicals "the Phantom of the Opera", titled "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again". It was recorded in Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin. Sandra's mentor was Paul Harrington, who won the Eurovision for Ireland along with Charlie McGettigan when they performed "Rock n' Roll Kids". Sandra was thrilled with the feedback he gave her and hopes his wonderful predictions do come true.

Other memorable performances include touring with Shaylyn, a group from Leitrim. This show told the story of Irish history. She was one of their main soloists and we toured Ireland for a number of weeks.
She also enjoys charity concerts and have recently performed for a concert in aid of the National Guide Dogs for the Blind. This concert was organised by John Perry Sligo TD.

After starting out singing the well known sports anthem "The Fields of Athenry", Sandra hasn't looked back and she hopes this is the beginning of a new journey.
